APPROPRIATION ACT.
Act No. 24, 1918.
An Act to appropriate and apply out of the Con- solidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales certain Sums to make good the Supplies granted for the Service of the year from tlm 1st day of July, 1918, to the 30th day of June , 1919 (inclusive of both dates); to adjust, the vote " Advance to Treasurer," 1917-18, Con-solidated Revenue Fund, for supplemental1;,
charges during the period from the 1st dav of July, 1917,' to the 30th day of June, 1918 (inclusive of both dates ; to cover payments

Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, W 1IEREAS we Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the members of the Legislative have granted to Your Majesty the several sums herein after mentioned for the Service of the year from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen (inclusive of both dates), and for supple menting the grants made by the present Parliament, in its Second Session, in adjustment of the vote " Advance to Treasurer," 1917-18. Consolidated Revenue Fund, for supplementary charges during the period from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen (inclusive of both dates) ; to cover payments " Unauthorised in Suspense," for urgent claims on account of Services of the year 1917-18, to be provided for out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund; and on account
out of the Public Works Fund ; and for Services to be of Public Works and other Services to be provided for provided for out of the Closer Settlement Fund : And whereas we desire to make good out of the said funds the several sums granted to Your Majesty as aforesaid: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of the State of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

APPROPRIATIONS OUT OF CLOSER SETTLEMENT FUND—
3 . Out of the Closer Settlement Fund there arc hereby appropriated, and may be issued and applied for or towards the several uses and purposes hereinafter ex pressed :—The sum of One hundred thousand pounds :—
Secretary for L a n d s - Closer Settlement Acts—To provide for the Acquisition of Land for the purposes of Closer Settlement and Contingent Expenses —further sum

4 . The Colonial Treasurer shall issue and pay the said several sums for the purposes hereinbefore men tioned in such manner and in such proportions as the Governor by any warrant or order in writing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer may from time to time order and direct, and the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the said funds respectively; but the said Treasurer shall not be held liable for any claims which may arise in connection with any of the State Departments trans ferred to the Commonwealth on or after the date of such transfer.
5 . The said Treasurer shall in his Accounts from time to time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such warrant or order in writing as aforesaid, and the receipts of the respective persons to whom the same are so paid
| in passing his said Accounts for any such sums as may | shall be a full and valid discharge to the said Treasurer |
| be therein mentioned, and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly. |
6 . This Act may be cited as the "Appropriation
| Act, | 1918 ." |
