Act No. 21, 1908.

An Act to appropriate and apply out of the Con­ solidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales certain Sums to make good the Supplies granted for the Service of the year from the 1st

day of July, 1908, to the 30th day of June, 1909,

inclusive of both dates; to adjust the vote "Advance to Treasurer, Consolidated Revenue Fund, 1907-1908," for supplementary charges during the period from 1st July, 1907, to 30th June, 1908, inclusive of both dates; to cover payments " Unauthorised in Suspense, Con­ solidated Revenue Fund " for urgent claims on account of Services of the Years 1906-7 and 1907-8; to provide for Public Works and other Services out of the Public Works Fund ; and to provide for services out of the Closer Settlement Fund; and for purposes con­ nected with and incidental to the above

in Parliament assembled, have granted to Your Majesty the several WH E R E A S we Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales

sums hereinafter mentioned for the service of the year from the first day of Ju ly , one thousand nine hundred and eight, to the thirtieth day

of June , one thousand nine hundred and nine (inclusive of both dates),

and for supplementing the grants made by the present Parliament, in its first session, in adjustment of the vote "Advance to Treasurer, Consolidated Revenue Fund, 1 9 0 7 - 1 9 0 8 , " for charges during the period from the first day of July , one thousand nine hundred and seven, to the thirtieth day of June , one thousand nine hundred and eight

(inclusive of both dates), to cover payments " Unauthorised in Suspense" for urgent claims on account of services of the years,

1906-7 and 1907-8 , to be provided for out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, and on account of Public Works and other Services to be provided for out of the Public Works Fund, and for services to be provided for out of the Closer Settlement Fund : And whereas we desire to make good out of the said funds the several sums granted to Your Majesty as aforesaid : Be it therefore enacted by the King's

The Colonial Treasure r shall issue and pay the said several sums for t he purposes hereinbefore ment ioned in such m a n n e r and in such propor t ions as t he Governor by any war ran t or order in wr i t ing unde r his hand and directed to t he said Treasurer may from t i m e to t ime order and direct , and the paymen t s so to be m a d e shal l be charged upon and payable out of t h e said funds respect ively ; b u t the said Treasurer shall no t be held liable for any claims which may arise in connect ion wi th any of t h e Sta te Dej iar t - men t s t ransferred to t he Commonwea l th on or after the date of such transfer .

5. The said Treasurer shall in his Accoun t s from t ime to t ime be al lowed credit for any s u m or sums of money paid by h i m in pursuance of such war ran t or order in wr i t ing as aforesaid, and t h e receipts of t h e respect ive persons to w h o m the same are so paid shal l be a full and valid d ischarge to t he said Treasure r in pass ing his said Accoun t s for any such sums as may be the re in ment ioned, and h e shal l receive credit for the same accordingly.
