HEREAS by the Laws relating to the Customs and Trade pmmble.

W and other Acts and Ordinances of the Province of South Australia, certain duties, fines, and other moneys are or may be im-

posed, levied, and collected, to be paid to the Treasurer on behalf of Her Majesty, Her heirs and successors, for the public uses of the said Province and support of the Government thereof--Be i t there- fore Enacted by the Governor-in-Chicf of the Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Lcgislativc Council

and House of Assembly of the said Province, in this present Parlia-

ment assembled, as follows:

thousand eight hundred and sixty.fot~r. and to apply out of the

General Revenue the sum of Three Hundred and Seventy-seven Thousand Pounds to the service of the nine months ending the

thirtpfirst day of March. one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five ;" out of the said duties and the produce of all or any other the general

public revenues of the said Province. not otherwise by law specially appropriated. there shall or may be further issued and applied to the

service of the year ending the thirtieth day of June. one thousand

eight hundred and sixty4ve. a, sum not exceeding One Hundred and Sixty-two Thousand Four Hundred and Eightecn Pounds. Seven

Shillings and Eightpence. the said sums amounting in the aggregate to the sum of Six Hundred and Forty-nine Thousand Four Hun- dred and Eighteen Pounds Seven Shillings and Eightpence. being

appropriated as follows for defraying the charge of the Colonial Government for the year ending the thirtieth day of June. one

thousand eight hundred and sixty.five.

2. The Treasurer shall issue and pay from time to time any sum ~ $ ! ~, " ~ ~ $ ~ O ~

or sums of money for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned, not and di~charge by re-

exceeding in the whole the sums respectively in that behalf herein- ceipt of party.

before siecified, to such persons, and in euch portions, as the

Governor for the time being shall, by any order or orders, in writing

signed by him, and countersigned by the Chief Secretary, from time to time direct: and the said Treasurer shall. in hie accounts. be allowed credit for all sums paid by him in pursuance of such orhers accordingly; and the receipts of the pcrsons to whom such sums shall have been so paid, shall be to him a full discharge for the sum or sums for which the same receipts shall have been respectively given, and the amounts thereof shall be passed to his credit in account accordingly.
