An Act for the Oeneml Appropriation qf fJle Recenue for the Year

one thousand eight hundred' and Hi-seven.

HFREAS, by the Laws relating to the Customs and Trade, Preamble.

and other Acts and Ordinances of this Province, certain duties, fines, and other moneys are or may be imposed, levied, and collected, to be paid to the Treasurer, on behalf' of Her Maje~ty,

Her IIeirs, and Successors, for the public uses of the Province and support of the Government thereof:

Be it therefore Enacted, by the Governor-&Chief of South Appropriation of

thercof, That, out of the said duties, and the produce of all or any

other, the General Public Revenues of the Province, not otherwise

by Inw specially appropriated, there shall or may be issued and applied, in the manner hereinafter provided, for the several prpotses hereinafter mentioned, my sums of' moncy not exceeding in amonnt, respectivcly, the several sums of money hereinafter specified, that iis to say-

That the Treasurer shall issw and pay. hereinbefore mentioned, not exceeding in the whole the sums respectively in that bcl~alf hereiribef'ore specified to such persons. and in such portions. as the Governor for the time being shall. by any order or orders. in writing signed by him. and countersigned by the Chief Secretary. from timc to time direct. and the said Treasurer shall. in his accounts. be allowed credit for all sums picl by him in pursuance of such ordcrs. accordingly; and the receipts of the persons to whom such sums shall have been so paid. shall be to him
