HEREAS, by the Laws relating to thc Customs and Trade, Reamble.

and other Acts and Ordi~mnces of this Province, certain duties, fines, and other moneys are or may be imposed, levied, and collected, to bc paid to thc Colonial Treasurer, on behalf of Her Majesty, Her Heirs, and Successors, for the public uses of the Province and support of the Government thereof:

That, out of the said duties, and the produce of all or any other the General Fublic Revenues of the Province, not otherwise by law spcciay appropriated, there shall or may be further issued and applied, in the manner hereinafter provided, for the several purposes hereinafter mentioned, any sums of money not exceeding in amount, respectively, the several sums of money hereillafter specified, that is to say-

Grants for the year ended the thirty-first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-.three, the sum of Eleven Thousand
and Seventy-five Pounds, Four Shillings, and Threepence, the said

2. And be it Enacted, That the Colonial Treasurer shall issue Colonial Treasurer to pay on the ordere of

and pay, from time to time, any sum or sums of money, for the and

purposes hcrcinbefore mentioned, not exceeding in the whole the charged by receipt of	sums respectivelv in that behalf hereinbefore specified to such aer- party.	sons, andin sucd portions, as the Governor for t'he time bcing shl l,	by any order or orders, in writing signed by him, from time to time,
direct, and the said Treasurer shall, in his ,accounts, be allowed credit for all sums paid by him in pursuance of such orders, ac- cordingly; and the rcccipts of the persons to whom such sums shall have been so paid, shall be to him a full discharge for the sum or sums for which the same receipts shall have bccn respectively given,
and the amounts thereof shall be passed to his credit in account
accordingly.
