HEREAS by the Laws relating to the Custonls and Trade, Preamble.

and other Acts and Ordinances of this Province, certain duties, fines, and other moneys are or may be imposed, levied, and collected, to be paid to the Colonial Treasurer, on behalf of Her Majesty, her heirs, and successors, for the public uses of the Pro- vince, and support of the Government thereof:

Be it therefore Enacted by the Governor of South Australia, Appropriationof

That out of the said duties, and the produce of all or any other the General Public Revenues of the Province, not otherwise by h w specially appropriated, there shall or may be further issued and applied, in the manner hereinafter provided, for the several pur- poses hereinafter mentioned, any sums of money not exceeding in amount, respectively, the several sums of money hereinafter spe- cified, that is to say :-

2. And be it Enacted, That the Colonial Treasurer shall issue

and pay, from time to time, any sum or sums of money, for the

charged by receipt of purposes hereinbefore mentioned, not exceeding in the whole the

party. sums respectively in that behalf hereinbefore specified, to such per-

sons, and in such portions, as the Governor for the time being shall, by any order or orders, in writing, signed by him, from time to time, direct, and the said Treasurer shall, in his accounts, be allowed credit'for all sums paid by him in p&suance of such orders, accor dingly; and the receipts of the persons to allon1 such sums shall have been so paid, shall be to him a full discharge for the sum or sums for which the same receipts shall have been respectively given, and the amounts thereof sllall be passed to his credit in account accordingly: Provided that if there is any surplus reveiiue from any of the moneys being unexpended, under the heads of Miscel- laneous Services, such revenues shall be applied to the formation of Roads and Bridges,
