C same shall be divhecl amongst the different denominations of pro, fessing Christians in proportion to the respective numbers of their population according to the census returns; and shall be pnid in proportionate sums to the office-bearers of every such denomination

. having cliargc of funds, or other similar matters of a secular nature, clccording to the constitution and usages of such denomination; or if there shall be no such office-bearers known or applicablc to the case, tlml to such trustees as shall be appointed by or on Lel~alf of any such denoininrtion, in manner to be directed by the Governor,
