An Act for applying certain Sums arising from the Revenue receivable in New South Wales to the Service thereof for the Year One thousand eight hundred and thirty-four and for further appropriat ing the said Revenue. [19th July, 1833.]

or t h e person admin is te r ing t he Gove rnmen t thereof should thence­ forth be vested in and exercised by the said Governor ac t ing wi th t h e advice a n d consent of t h e Legis la t ive Counci l of t h e said Colony a n d t h a t t h e produce of t h e several dut ies imposed and m a d e payable under and by vi r tue of t h e said Acts the re in referred to and also unde r a n d by v i r t ue of t h a t Act should be appl ied in such m a n n e r a n d

to such purposes as t h e said Governor and Counci l should from t i m e

4. A n d he it fur ther enacted Tha t out of t h e produce of t h e

sums of money no t exceeding six h u n d r e d and t w e n t y pounds six

shi l l ings to defray t h e charge of t he Mi l i t a ry E s t a b l i s h m e n t of t h e
said Colony for t h e year one t h o u s a n d eight h u n d r e d and th i r ty- four .
5. A n d be i t fur ther enacted T h a t out of t h e p roduce of t h e

said dut ies the re shal l and may be issued a n d applied any sum or sums of money no t exceeding one t h o u s a n d eight h u n d r e d and

seventy-five pounds th ree shil l ings a n d ninepence to defray t h e
pensions to re t i red Officers a n d W i d o w s chargeable upon t h e Funds
of t h e Colony for t h e year one thousand e ight h u n d r e d and th i r ty -
four.

(5. A n d he it fur ther enacted Tha t out of t he produce of t he

said dut ies the re shall a n d may he issued and appl ied any s u m or

sums of money not exceeding t w e n t y t h o u s a n d five h u n d r e d and t h r ee pounds five shi l l ings for defraying t h e charge for Miscel laneous Services of t h e said Colony for t h e year one t housand eight h u n d r e d and th i r ty- four as hereinafter more par t i cu la r ly expressed t h a t is to say any s u m or sums of money no t exceeding one t housand n ine h u n d r e d pounds to defray the expense of Sta t ionery P r i n t i n g Rook- b ind ing Gazet tes and A l m a n a c k s for t h e several Pub l i c D e p a r t m e n t s of t h e said Colony and any s u m or sums of money not exceeding one h u n d r e d a n d twen ty pounds to defray t h e expense of F u e l and L i g h t for t h e said several Pub l i c D e p a r t m e n t s and any sum or sums of money no t exceeding seven hund red and fifty pounds to defray t h e charge of an al lowance to t he Honorab le Alexander M ' L e a y E s q u i r e in fulfilment of an agreement wi th the R i g h t Honorab le t h e Secre tary of Sta te for t h e Colonies and in l ieu of fees and any s u m or sums of money no t exceeding th ree h u n d r e d pounds to defray t h e a m o u n t of d rawbacks of dut ies paid on goods wares a n d merchandise impor ted in to t h e said Colony upon the expor ta t ion of t he said goods wares or merchandise and any s u m or sums of money not exceeding e ight

t h e Police Es t ab l i shmen t of t h e said Colony.

7. A n d be it fur ther enacted T h a t out of t h e produce of t he
said dut ies the re shall and may be issued and applied any sum or sums

of money not exceeding two thousand pounds to t he Governor for t he

t ime-be ing of t he said Colony to be applied to mee t unforeseen expenses on occasions of emergency.

8. A n d be it fur ther enacted Tha t t he Treasurer of t h e said Colony shall issue and pay the said several sums to such persons for the purposes hereinbefore ment ioned upon such days and in such pro­ por t ions as t he Governor for t h e t ime-being by any w a r r a n t or order in wri t ing to be signed by h im shall from t ime to t ime order and direct and t h a t t h e p a y m e n t s so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the Revenues of t h e said Colony.

9. A n d be i t fu r the r enacted Tha t t h e said Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by h im in pur suance of such war ran t or order in wr i t i ng as aforesaid and t h a t t h e receipt or receipts of t h e respective persons to whom t h e same shall be so paid shal l be a full and valid discharge to t h e said Treasurer in pass ing his said accounts for any such sum or sums of money as shall be the re in ment ioned and t h a t he shal l and do receive credit for the same accordingly.
