An Ordinance to amend an Ordinance passed in the present year, No. 17, and to provide for the appropriation of the Revenue for the service of the year 18.56.
HEREAS it has been found practicable to retrench many
Witems of expense contained in an Ordinance passed in the
present year, No. 17, hatituled " An Ordinance to provide for the payment of certain unforeseen expenses in the year 1855, and also for the appropriation of the Revenue for the service of the year 1856 ;" and whereas provision for such appropriation is necessary :—Be it therefore enacted, by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and con- sent of the Legislative Council thereof, that Clause 2 in the said re-

cited Ordinance, relating to the year 1856, and also the Schedule thereunto annexed, and marked No. 2, be, and the same hereby are declared to be repealed, and the following substituted in place of said Clause 2 :—
THAT out of the product of the Revenue of the said Colony, a sum not exceeding Forty-four thousand and forty-five pounds be charged for the service of the year 1856, and applied in manner following; that is to say :-
FOR SALARIES, ALLOWANCES, &C.-
His Excellency the Governor, Two thousand one hundred and
thirty-three pounds, sixteen shillings, and eightpence.
Do. do. Colonial Secretary, One thousand Eight hundred and
ninety-five pounds.
Do. do. Clerk of Councils, Three hundred and fifty pounds.
Do. do. Treasurer, Six hundred and 'eighty pounds.
Do. do. Auditor General, Six hundred pounds.
Do. do. Registrar of Deeds, Fifty pounds.
Do. do. Registrar General of Births, &c., Fifty pounds.
Do. do. Surveyor General, Two thousand and twenty-eight pounds.
Do. do. Office of Works, Four hundred and ninety-four pounds,
Eighteen shillings, and fourpence.
Do. do. Customs, One thousand one hundred and twelve pounds. Do. do. Post-Office, Nine hundred and twenty-four pounds, Ten
shillings.
Do. do. Harbour Master, One thousand one hundred and five
pounds.
Do. do. Judicial Establishment, Four thousand five hundred and
sixty-six pounds, three shillings, and fourpence.
Do. do. Ecclesiastical, One thousand seven hundred and eighty-
two pounds, Nine shillings, and One penny.
Do. do. Medical Establishment, Nine hundred and thirty-six.

hundred and seventy pounds:
For Ecclesiastical Services, (exclusive of establishments), Fifty
pounds.
For Charitable Allowances, Three hundred pounds.
For Education, (exclusive of establishments), Three hundred
pounds.
For Hospitals, (exclusive of establishments), Seven hundred
pounds.
For Police, (exclusive of establishments), One thousand seven
hundred and fifty pounds.
For Gaols, (exclusive of establishments), Two thousand three
hundred and eighty pounds.
For Rent, Three Hundred and eleven pounds, Six shillings.
For Transport, Four hundred and forty pounds.
For Conveyance of Mails, One thousand two hundred and fifty
pounds.
For Works and Buildings, One thousand and six hundred pounds. For Roads and Bridges, Two thousand and three hundred pounds. For Miscellaneous Services, Four hundred pounds.
For Immigration, (exclusive of establishments), Six hundred
pounds.
For Surveyor General, (exclusive of establishments), Two hun-
dred pounds.
For Aborigines, (exclusive of establishments), Three hundred and
seventy-two pounds.
For Harbour Master, (exclusive of establishments), Six hundred
and seventy pounds.
For Repayment of Debts and Debentures, Two thousand two
hundred and three pounds, six shillings, and sevenpence.
Amounting in the whole to the above sum of Forty-four thou-
sand and forty-five pounds.
