An Ordinance for the appropriation of the Revenue for the Year One thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-two
mTHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the Service of the YearOne Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-two ;—Be it: there-
fore enacted, by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the

Council thereof, that a sum not exceeding £14,218 15s. Od. be charged upon the Revenue of the said Colony for the service of the year 1852, and applied in the manner following; that, is to say
For the expenditure of the Civil Establishment, a sum not exceed-
ing £8,274 15s.
For Revenue Services, exclusive of Establishments, a sum not
exceeding £110.
For Administration of Justice, a sum not exceeding £230.
For Ecclesiastical Services, exclusive of Establishments, a sum not
exceeding £50.
For Charitable Allowances, a sum not exceeding £90.
For Education, exclusive of Establishments, a sum not exceeding
£100.
For Hospitals, exclusive of Establishments, a sum not exceeding
£235.
For Police and Gaols, exclusive of Establishments, a sum not ex-
ceeding £1,035.
For Rent of Offices, a sum not exceeding £20.
For Transport and Travelling Expenses, a sum not exceeding £210.
For Conveyance of Mails, a sum not exceeding £340.
For Works and Buildings, a sum not exceeding £500.
For Roads, Streets, and Bridges, a sum not exceeding £910.
For Miscellaneous Services, a sum not exceeding £200.
For Interest on Debentures, a sum not exceeding £77.
For the Surveyor-General'sDepartment exclusive of Establishments,
a sum not exceeding £10.
For Aborigines, a sum not exceeding £300.
For the Harbour Master, a sum not exceeding £227.
For payment of Debts and Debentures, a sum not exceeding
£1,300.
In the manner more particularly set forth and detailed under each head of expenditure respectively in the Schedule hereunto annexed.
II. AND be it enacted, that the Colonial Treasurer shall issue and pay, from time to time, any sum or sums of money for the pur- poses hereinbefore mentioned, not exceeding in the whole the sums respectively in that behalf hereinbefore specified, to such persons and in such portions as the Governor for the time being shall, by any order or orders in writing signed by him, from time to time direct; and the said Treasurer shall, in his accounts, be allowed credit for all sums paid by- him in pursuance of such orders accordingly ;

and the receipts of the persons to whom such sums shall have been so paid shall be to him a full discharge for the sum or sums for which the same receipts shall have been respectively given, and the amount thereof shall be passed to his credit in account accordingly.
