An Act for applying certain Sums arising from the Revenue receivable in New South Wales to the Service thereof for the Year One thousand eight hundred and fifty and for further appropriating the said Revenue. [9th

W H E R E A S a n d s ix th year of t h e re ign of H e r present Majesty Queen
by a cer ta in Ac t of P a r l i a m e n t passed in t he fifth

A n d be it enacted That out of the produce of the said taxes dut ies rates and imposts t h e n shall and m a y be issued and applied any sum or sums of money not exceeding five hund red pounds to defray Pensions and Ret i red Allowances in t he said Colony for t h e year one thousand eight hund red and fifty as hereinaf ter more par t icu la r ly expressed t ha t is to say any sum or sums of money no t exceeding four hund red pounds to defray Pensions to t he W i d o w s of Sir Francis Forbes and Sir James Bowl ing late Chief Jus t ices of New South Wales be ing two hundred pounds each and any s u m or sums of money no t exceding one hundred pounds as an allowance to Mr . three thousand pounds for t he Es tab l i shment of Schools beyond the

Sett led Dis t r ic ts of t h e Colony conducted unde r Lord Stanley 's system of Na t iona l Educa t ion viz.—one thousand five hundred pounds for such Schools in t h e Sydney Distr ic t and one thousand five hund red

pounds for such Schools in t h e P o r t Phi l l ip Distr ic t .

24. A n d be it enacted Tha t t h e Treasurer of t he said Colony shall issue and pay the said several sums to such persons for t he pur ­ poses hereinbefore ment ioned upon such days and in such proport ions as t he Governor for t h e t ime being by any w a r r a n t or order in wr i t ing to be signed by h i m shall from t ime to t ime order and direct and t h a t t h e payments so to be m a d e shall be charged upon and payable out of the Revenues of t h e said Colony.

25. A n d be it enacted That the said Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by h im in pur suance of such war ran t or order in wr i t ing as aforesaid and t h a t t he receipt or receipts of the respective persons

to whom the same shall he so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to t he said Treasurer in pass ing his said accounts for any such sum or sums as shall be there in ment ioned and tha t he shall and do receive credit for t he same accordingly.
