An Ordinance to provide for the payment of certain unforeseen Expenses during the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty.

TIEREAS it is necessary to provide for the payment• of certain

unforeseen expenses of the present year one thousand eight

hundred and fifty, for which no provision was made in the Ordinance

for that year : Be it therefore enacted, by his Excellency the Gov-

ernor

ernor of Western Australia and itsDependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, that out of the revenue of the said Colony there shall and may be issued and applied to de- fray the Supplementary charge for the services of the year ending on the thirty-first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty, and not provided for in the Ordinance of that year, a sum not exceeding £1232 2s. 6c1., in the manner following, that is to say

For the expenditure of the Civil Establishment, a sum not exceed-

ing £202 2s. 6d.

For Education exclusive of Establishments, a sum not exceeding

£5.

For Hospitals exclusive of Establishments, a sum not exceeding

£40.

For Police and Gaols exclusive of Establishment, a sum not ex-

ceeding £300.

For Works and Buildings, a sum not exceeding £289.

For 'loads, Streets, and Bridges, a sum not exceeding £268.

For Miscellaneous Services, a sum not exceeding £18.

For Aborigines, a sum not exceeding £20

For the Harbour Master, a sum not exceeding £90.

In the manner more particularly set forth and detailed under each head of expenditure respectively in the Schedule hereunto annexed.

II. AND be it enacted, that the Colonial Treasurer shall issue

and pay 'tom time to time any sum or sums of money for the pur- poses hereinbefore mentioned nat exceeding in the whole the sums respectively in that behalf hereinbefore specified, to such persons and in such portions as the Governor for the time being shall by any order or orders in writing signed by him from time to time direct, and the said Treasurer shall in his accounts be allowed credit for all sums paid by him in persuance of such orders accordingly, and the recepits of the persons to whom such sums shall have been paid shall be to him a hill discharge for the sum or sums fbr which the same receipts shall have ueen respectively given and the amount thereof shall be passed to his credit in account accordingly.
