An Act for applying certain Sums arising from the Revenue receivable in New South Wales to the Service thereof for the Year One thou­ sand eight hundred and forty-seven and for further appropriating the said Revenue, [30th October, 1846.]

by a cer ta in Act of Pa r l i ament passed in t h e fifth and

in t i tu led " An Act for the Government of New South Wales and Van

Diemen's Land" i t was a m o n g o the r t h ings enacted t h a t t h e Governor of t he said Colony of N e w South Wales w i th t h e advice a n d consent of t h e Legislat ive Counci l should have au tho r i t y to m a k e laws for t h e peace welfare and good gove rnmen t of t h e said Colony and t h a t w i th t he deduct ions and subject to t h e provisions there in con­ ta ined the whole of H e r Majesty 's Revenue w i th in t h e said Colony ar i s ing from taxes duties ra tes and imposts levied on H e r Majes ty ' s subjects wi th in t h e said Colony should be appropr ia ted to t h e publ ic service w i th in t he said Colony by Ordinances to be for t h a t purpose enacted by the Governor w i th t h e advice a n d consent of t h e Legislat ive Council of t h e said Colony and in no o ther m a n n e r Be i t therefore enacted by H i s Excel lency t h e Governor of New Sou th W a l e s w i th t h e advice and consent of t h e Legislat ive Counci l

accounts from t ime to t ime be allowed credit for any sum or sums of

money paid by h i m in pu r suance of such w a r r a n t or order in wr i t ing

as aforesaid a n d t h a t t h e receipt or receipts of t he respective persons
