. An Ordinance for applying certain Sums arising from the Revenue receivable in the Colony of Western Australia to the service thereof, for the Financial Year commencing First of April, One thousand eight hundred and forty-seven; and for the further appropriating the said Revenue.

HEREAS power and authority have been vested in the Gov-

ernor of Western Australia, acting with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof, to make, ordain, and establish all such laws and Ordinances as may be necessary for the maintenance of the peace, order, and good government of the same :—Be it therefore enacted, by His Excellency the Gov- ernor of Western Australia, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof ;—That out of the produce of the Revenue- of the said Colony, there shall and may be issued and ap- plied any sum or sums of money not exceeding eight hundred and eighty pounds, sixteen shillings, and threepence, for defraying the supplementary charge for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, one thousand eight hundred and forty-six, - as detailed in the annexed schedule, marked No. 1.

II. AND be it enacted, that out of the produce of the Revenue of the said colony, there shall any may be issued and applied, any stun or sun's not exceeding seven thousand nine hundred and thirty pounds, ten shillings, for defraying the expences of those establish- ments chargeable on the colonial fund for the year commencing first of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty-seven; that is to say:

For the expenditure of the Audit Office, any sum or sums not ex- ceeding two hundred and seventy-five pounds.

For the expenditure of the Colonial Secretary's Office, any sum or sums not exceeding one hundred . pounds.

For the expenditure of the Colonial Treasurer's Office, any sum or

minis riot exceeding flirty-five pounds; twelve shillings and sixpence.

For the expenditure of the Customs and Revenue Department, any sum or suminot exceeding nine hundred and fifteen pounds.—

For. the expenditure -of the Council Office, any sum or sums not exceeding one hundred and , fifty pounds.

For the expenditure of the Ecclesiastical Department, any sum or sums not exceeding four hundred pounds.

For the expenditure of the Governor's Office, any sum or sums not exceeding one hundred pounds.

For the expenditure of the Harbour Master's Department, any

sum or sums not exceeding three hundred and fifty-two pounds.

For the expenditure of the Judicial Department, any sum or sums

not exceeding one thousand, one hundred and thirty-five pounds.

For the expenditure of the Medical Department, any sum or sums

not exceeding three hundred and eleven pounds.

. For the expenditure on ,

account of Natives and schools for Natives,

any sum or sums not exceeding two hundred and sixty pounds.

For the expenditure on account of the Police Force, any sum or sums not exceeding four hundred and twenty-four pounds seventeen shil- lings and sixpence.

For the expenditure of the Post Office Department, any sum or

sums not exceeding nine hundred and seventy-seven pounds.

For the expenditure on account of Public Works, any sum or sums

not exceeding three hundred and fifty-two pounds.

For the expenditure of the Registrar of Deeds' Office, any sum or

sums not exceeding one hundred pounds.

For the expenditure on account of Roads and Bridges, any sum or

sums not exceeding two hundred pounds.

For the expenditure on account of the Rottnest Establishment, any

sum or sums not exceeding three hundred pounds.

For the expenditnre on account of schools, any sum or sums not

exceeding two hundred pounds.

For the expenditure of the Survey Department, any sum or sums

not exceeding six hundred and seventy-five pounds.

For expenditure on account of Miscellaneous Services, any sum or sums not exceeding:six hundred and fifty-eight pounds, as in the details 'of the said expenditure are more particularly set forth in the Schedule hereunto annexed, marked No. 2.

nt. AND be it enacted, that the Treasurer of the said Colony

shall issue and pay the said sums to such persons, for the purposes hereinafter mentioned, upon such days and in such proportions as the Governor for the time being, by any warrant or order signed by him, shall from timeto time order and direct, and that the payment so made shall be charged upon and payable out of the Revenue of the said colony.

IV. AND be it enacted, that the said Treasurer shall in his ac- counts from time to time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such warrant or order in writing as aforesaid, and that the receipt or receipts of the respective persons to whom the same shall be so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to the said Treasurer in passing his said accounts for any such sum or -sums of money as shall be therein mentioned, and that he shall and do receive credit for the same accordingly.
