An Act for applying certain Sums arising from the Revenue receivable in New South Wales to the Service thereof for the Year Que thousand eight hundred and forty-two and for further appropriat ing the said Revenue.

expense of erecting a Watch-house at Portland Bay and any sum or sums of money not exceeding three thousand pounds towards defraying the expense of erecting Light-houses and any sum or sums of money not exceeding one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five pounds to defray the expense of the Supreme Court Establishment and any sum or sums of money not exceeding six hundred and thirty-five pounds to defray the expense of the Sheriff's Establishment and any sum or sums

of money not exceeding four hundred and sixty-five pounds to defray

the expense of Courts of Requests at Melbourne and Geelong and any sum or sums of money not exceeding one hundred and eighty pounds to defray the salary of a Coroner and the expense of Inquests and any sum or sums of money not exceeding two thousand seven hundred and fifty-nine pounds four shillings and three-pence to defray the expense;

of Police at Melbourne Newtown and William's Town and any sum or
or sums of money not exceeding one thousand one hundred and twenty- four pounds eighteen shillings and nine-pence to defray the expense of the Police at Geelong and any sum or sums of money not exceeding one thousand and forty-nine pounds eighteen shillings and. nine-pence to defray the expense of the Police at Portland Bay and any sum or sums of money not exceeding three hundred and fifty pounds seven shillings and sixpence to defray the expense of the Police at the Grange and any sum or sums of money not exceeding one thousand and filty-five pounds two shillings and sixpence to defray the expense of the Water

hundred and forty pounds one shilling and eight-pence to defray the expense of the Mounted Police and any sum or sums of money not exceeding four thousand two hundred and seventy-three pounds two shillings and sixpence to defray the expense of the Border Police and any sum or sums of money not exceeding one thousand three hundred and seventy-three pounds twelve shillings and one penny to defray the expense of the Gaol at Melbourne and any sum or sums of money not exceeding four thousand six hundred pounds (including three thousand pounds towards the erection of Churches and Ministers' Dwellings on

for the several Public Departments and of Furniture Fuel and Light for the several Public Offices.
14. And be it enacted That the Treasurer of the said Colony shall issue and pay the said several sums to such persons for the pur­ poses hereinbefore mentioned upon such days and in such proportions as the Governor for the time being by any warrant or order in writing to be signed by him shall from time to time order and direct and that the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the Revenues of the said Colony.

15. A n d be it enacted Tha t t h e said Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime be allowed credit for any s u m or sums of money paid by h i m in pu r suance of such w a r r a n t or order in wr i t ing as aforesaid and t h a t t he receipt or receipts of t h e respective persons to w h o m t h e same shal l be so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to t he said Treasurer in pass ing his said accounts for any such sum or sums as shal l be the re in men t ioned and t h a t he shall and do receive credit for t h e same accordingly.
