Application to terminate the Journalists’ (Cumberland Newspapers Pty Limited) Award.

[1] On 29 April 2011, Nationwide News Pty Limited (MATP, Western Press and NT News Divisions) made an application for Fair Work Australia (FWA) to terminate the enterprise instrument known as the Journalists’ (Cumberland Newspapers Pty Limited) Award (the Award). The application was made pursuant to Item 5(1) of Schedule 6 to the Fair Work (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 2009 (the Transitional Act).

[2] I have considered the factors in Item 4 of Schedule 6 to the Transitional Act.

[3] The application is granted and the Award is terminated. The termination shall operate from 5 May 2011.
