1. I n all cases in which any person now is or shall hereafter be by vi r tue of a n y A c t enti t led to appeal from t h e conviction or order of any Jus t i ce or Jus t i ces and no mode of proceeding shall have been or shall be specially provided in t h a t behalf by such or some other A c t t he proceedings in respect of t he appeal shall be deemed to be provided for by t he th i rd section of t h e A c t passed in t he fifth year

prosecuted in t he m a n n e r prescribed by t h a t section all t he provisions of which shall apply to such appeal and to t he par t ies the re to accordingly.
2 . Such r igh t of appeal shall for t h e purposes of this A c t and
of t h e said th i rd section be t aken to have been given where in respect of any such conviction or order as aforesaid i t is or shall be in general te rms provided t h a t the defendant there in m a y appeal from t h e same or it is or shall be provided t h a t in case t he pena l ty or forfeiture or t he s u m ordered to be paid exceeds a specified a m o u n t or va lue he may so appeal a l though no reference be m a d e to th is A c t or to t he said th i rd section in or bv anv such enac tment .
