APIARIES ACT 1985—REGULATION
(Relating to base registration fee and bee compensation levy payable by
beekeepers)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Apiaries Act 1985, has been pleased to make the
Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Apiaries Regulation 1986 is amended:
| (a) | by omitting from clause 4 (4) (a) and from Forms 1 and 2 in Schedule 1 the matter “$11.00” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the matter “$15.00”; |
| (b) | by omitting from clause 4 (4) (b) and from Forms 1 and 2 in Schedule 1 the matter “$2.00” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the matter “$2.50”. |
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Apiaries Regulation 1986 so as to increase the prescribed registration fee payable on registration or the renewal of registration as a beekeeper as follows:
• the base fee—$11 to $15
• the bee compensation levy (calculated at the rate for every 10 hives, or part of 10 hives, kept by the beekeeper)—$2 to $2.50.
This Regulation is made under the Apiaries Act 1985, including section 50 (the
general regulation-making power) (in particular, section 50 (2) (b) and (e)) and
sections 7 and 11.
