[ASSENTED TO 14TH OCTOBER, 1930.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Ilcgis- lative Assembly of Queenslandin Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The Anzac Day Act and t t' Amendment Act of 1930," and shall be read as one with cons ruc Ion. *" The Anzac Day Act of 1921," herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may collectively be cited as "The Anzac Day Acts, 1921 W 1930." Amendments of the Principal Act. Amend- 2. The following new sections are inserted after m P e r . m nt c ~ lpoafl the section two of the Principal Act , namely '- Act. Factories "[3.] (1.) (2.) Subject to the provisions of subsection one hereof, any occupier of a factory, or any storekeeper or any person acting or apparently acting in the manage- ment of a factory or shop, who fails or neglects to close and keep closed his factory or shop on Anzac Day, or * 12 Geo. 1930. HOLIDAYS. Anzac Day Act Amendment Act. 12925 who fails or neglects to give any employee (except as aforesaid) in such factory or shop a whole holiday on Anzac Day, shall be guilty of an offence, and shall on conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding ten pounds to be recovered in a summary way under *" The Justices Acts, 1886 to 1929.". (3.) [4.J No building, room, garden, or other place shall Places of be kept open or used for a theatre, dancing-hall, music- am~ sement hall, circus, film or cinematograph exhibition, boxing ~~ y.nzac entertainment or exhibition, or for the purpose of any other public entertainment or amusement, whether a charge is made for admission thereto or not, on Anzac Day: Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent the keeping open and use of any such building, room, garden, or other place for the purpose of conducting therein a sacred memorial concert or religious or memorial service; but no charge for admission thereto shall be made. Any person offending against the provisions of this section shall on conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred pounds. . Moreover, the provisions of this section shall be deemed to be a condition of any license granted by a Local Authority (including the Brisbane City Council) in respect of any such building, room, garden, or place; and any power and authority imposed and vested in a * 50 Vic. 12926 HOLIDAYS. Holidays Act Amendment Act. 21 GEO. V. No. 31, Local Authority (including the Brisbane City Council), in respect of the cancellation of a license on conviction by the licensee for a breach of the conditions thereof, shall apply and extend accordingly." Section 3. SCHEDULE. 1. Every factory or shop in which any of the following trades or businesses is usually carried on :- (1) Printing, publishing, or distributing newspapers; (2) The manufacture, distribution, or supply of gas or electric light or power or water supply ; (3) Any necessarily continuous process of manlliacture; (4) Milk supply; (5) Eating-houses and restaurants; (6) Fish and oyster shops; (7) Cooked meat (other than tinned meat) shops; (8) Confectionery, pastry, and bread shops; (9) Fruit and vegetable shops; and (lO) Booksellers' and news-agents'; and 2. Every factory or shop of any class or kind added by Proclamation of the Governor in Council to this Schedule. 21 Geo. v.
