Queensland Anti-Discrimination Amendment Act 1992 Act No. 59 of 1992 An Act to amend the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 [Assented to 7 December 1992]
4 Anti-Discrimination Amendment No. 59, 1992 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows. ˙ Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Anti-Discrimination Amendment Act 1992 . ˙ Amended Act 2. The Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 is amended as set out in this Act. ˙ Amendment of s.32 (Compulsory retirement age) 3. Section 32(1)— omit, insert— ‘(1) A person may set an age for the compulsory retirement of people whether— (a) generally; or (b) by reference to sex, category or type of position. ’. ˙ Amendment of s.127 (Discriminatory advertisements) 4. After section 127(1)— insert— ‘(1A) To remove any doubt, subsection (1) does not apply to an advertisement so far as it advertises for a worker who is under 21 years of age, whether by specifying a particular age, a particular age group or otherwise. E A x n a e m m p p le lo — yer may advertise for an 18 year old sales assistant or for a 15 to 17 year old sales assistant. ’.
