ANNUAL REPORTS (DEPARTMENTS) ACT 1985 - REGULATION

(Relating to the use of consultants by Departments)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Annual Reports (Departments) Act 1985, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Annual Reports (Departments) Regulation 1986 is amended:
(a) by omitting clause 3 (j) (v);

(b) by inserting after clause 3 (j) the following paragraph

(j1) consultants:

(i)

if the total fee paid during the financial year to a consultant engaged by or on behalf of the Department exceeds $30,000, details relating to the use of the consultant (including, but not limited to, the name of the consultant and the total fee paid to the consultant, the relevant division or section of the Department and the expenses incurred and, if the consultant has been engaged for a particular project, a description of the project and the expected or actual duration and progress of the project) and a statement Justifying the use of the consultant; and

(ii)        if the total fee paid during the financial year to a consultant engaged by or on behalf of the Department is less than $30,000, details of the use of the consultant (including the name of the consultant and the total fee paid to the consultant and, is the consultant has been engaged for a particular project, a description of the project);

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Annual Reports (Departments) Regulation 1986 to p rescribe the particulars relating to the use of consultants by a Department to be included in its report of operations for a financial year.
