1. Name of regulation

   This regulation is the Animal Welfare Amendment Regulation 2014 (No 1).

2. Commencement

   This regulation commences on 1 July 2014.

   NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3. Legislation amended

   This regulation amends the Animal Welfare Regulation 2001.

4. Section 7 (1), note

   omit

5. New section 7 (5) and (6)

   insert

   (5)The Legislation Act, section 47 (6) does not apply to the code.

   Note 1The text of an applied, adopted or incorporated law or instrument, whether applied as in force from time to time or at a particular time, is taken to be a notifiable instrument if the operation of the Legislation Act, s 47 (5) or (6) is not disapplied (see s 47 (7)).

   Note 2A notifiable instrument must be notified under the Legislation Act.

   (6)In this section:

   code means the Australian code of practice for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes, published by the National Health and Medical Research Council, as in force from time to time.
