Animal Farming (Registration) Regulations 2005
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the joint recommendation of the Secretary of the Department and the Director of National Parks and Wildlife, make the following regulations under the Animal Farming (Registration) Act 1994 .21 December 2005

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Animal Farming (Registration) Regulations 2005 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on 1 January 2006. 3InterpretationIn these regulations, unless the contrary intention appears – Act means the Animal Farming (Registration) Act 1994 . 4Prescribed animalsFor the purpose of the definition of "prescribed animal" in section 3 of the Act, the classes or species of animal specified in Schedule 1 are prescribed animals. 5Prescribed fees for applications for registrationFor section 6(2)(b) of the Act, the prescribed fee is 190 fee units. 6Prescribed conditionsFor section 8(1)(b) of the Act, it is a condition of an animal farmer’s registration that the animal farmer must keep all records, or copies of records, necessary to establish the ownership of each prescribed animal farmed. 7Adoption of Exotic Sheep Breeds Code of PracticeThe Exotic Sheep Breeds Code of Practice published under that name and approved by the Department, together with any amendments to that Code, is adopted for the purpose of the Act. EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations –
(a) prescribe a fee and certain other matters for the purpose of the Animal Farming (Registration) Act 1994 ; and (b) replace the Animal Farming (Registration) Regulations 1995 .
