Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights (Suspension of Executive Board) Amendment Act 2017

An Act to amend the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights Act 1981.

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1Preliminary1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights (Suspension of Executive Board) Amendment Act 2017.

2Commencement

This Act will come into operation immediately after section 13 of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights (Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 2016 comes into operation.

3Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

4Amendment of section 13O – Minister may suspend Executive Board
  1. (1)

    Section 13O(1)—delete subsection (1) and substitute:

    1. (1)

      The Minister may, for any reason the Minister thinks fit, by notice in the Gazette, suspend the Executive Board for a period specified in the notice or until further notice in the Gazette.

  2. (2)

    Section 13O—after subsection (1) insert:

    1. (1a)

      Without limiting subsection (1), the Minister should, unless the Minister considers it inappropriate to do so, advise Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara and the Executive Board of the Minister's intention to suspend the Executive Board at least 7 days prior to the suspension taking effect.
