Regulation under the Weights and Measures Ordinance
1929-1959.*

, make the following Regulation under the Weights and Measures
Dated this thirty-first day of December, 1959.

AMENDMENTS OF THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES REGULATIONS.!
Regulation 2 of the Weights and Measures Regulations is amended— Modification,
(a) by omitting the words " Weights and Measures Act, 1915 " ReJuliw0?shts
in their stead the words " Weights and Measures Act,Act' 1915-1956- and " Weights and Measures Ordinance 1932 " and inserting and Measures 1915-1956" and ''Weights and Measures Ordinance
1929-1959", respectively;
ib) by omitting paragraph (a) and inserting in its stead the follow- ing paragraph:—
" (a) The regulations shall be read—
(i) as if the words ' the first day of August, 1933 ' were substituted for the words ' 6th July, 1917 ' (wherever occurring) and for the words ' the date of the Regulations' (wherever occurring); and
(ii) as if the words ' section 27 of the
2033/59.—PRICE 3D. Ordinance' were substituted for the
words 'section 31 of the Act' (where-

(c) by omitting paragraph (c) and inserting in its stead the
following paragraph:—
" (c) Regulation 3 of Part I. shall be read—
(i) as if the definitions of * The date of the Regulations* and ' The Act' were omitted; and
(ii) as if, at the end thereof, the following
definitions were added:—
' " the Ordinance" means the Weights and Measures Ordi-
nance 1929-1959.';

' " the Superintendent" means a per- son authorized by the Minister under sub-section (2.) of section eight of the Ordinance to exer- cise the powers and perform the functions of the Superintendent under these Regulations.';";
{d) by omitting paragraphs (k), (I) and (m);
(e) by inserting after paragraph (n) the following paragraph:—" (na) Regulation 114A of Part IV. shall be read as if the words 'Subject to regulation 117 of these^ Regulations, the' were substituted for the worq 'The';";
(/) by omitting paragraph (o) and inserting in its stead the
following paragraph:—
" (o) Regulation 115 of Part IV. shall be read as if the words ' the office of an Inspector at the Depart- ment of the Interior' were substituted for the words ' the metropolitan office';";
(g) by omitting paragraphs (p) and (q) and inserting in then-
stead the following paragraph:—
" (p) The regulations shall be read as if the following regulation were substituted for regulation 117 of Part IV.:—
' 117.—(1.) Subject to this regulation,
weights, measures and instruments other than those specified in the last preceding regulation shall be presented, for verification purposes, at the Inspector's office.
' (2.) Weights, measures and instruments may, in lieu of being presented for verification purposes at the Inspector's office in accordance with the last preceding sub-regulation, be veri- fied at the owner's premises upon payment of
a fee of Fifteen shillings. . ' (3.) The fee specified in the last preceding sub-regulation is payable in addition to the fee™ prescribed by regulation 114A of these Regula- tions.' ";
(/») by omitting paragraph (r) and inserting in its stead the
following paragraph:—
" (r) Regulation 121 of Part IV. shall be read—
(i) as if the words ' Commonwealth or the
Commonwealth Railways Commis- sioner ' were substituted for the words ' Commissioner for Railways or any Government Department'; and
(ii) as if the words ' Commonwealth or the Commissioner' were substituted for the words ' Commissioner or such Government Department';";

Weights and Measures Regulations.
(i) by omitting paragraph (/) and inserting in its stead the
following paragraphs:—
" (0 The regulations shall be read as if the following regulation were substituted for regulation 123 of Part IV.:—
'123. Weighbridges shall be re verified and
stamped once in each period of six months.';
" (ta) The regulations shall be read as if regulations 127 to 129 (inclusive) of Part IV. and the heading to those regulations were omitted;";
(/) by omitting from paragraph (w) the words "Public Health Ordinance 1928-1930 " and inserting in their stead the words "Public Health Ordinance 1928-1951"; and
(k) by inserting after paragraph (cc) the following paragraph:—
" (cd) The regulations shall be read as if regulation 6 of
Part VII. were omitted;".
