Regulations under the Weights and Measures Ordinance 1929*

I, ANTHONY ALLAN STALEY, the Minister of State for the Capital Territory, hereby make the following Regulations under the Weights and Measures Ordinance 1929.

AMENDMENTS OF T H E WEIGHTS AND MEASURES

REGULATIONSf

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 November

1977. 2 . Regulation 2 of the Weights and Measures Regulations is

amended—

(a) by omitting paragraph (b) and substituting the following paragraph:

" ( b ) Regulation 2 of Part I is excepted;";

(b) by inserting after paragraph (e) the following paragraphs: " (eaa) Regulation 2 of Part IV shall be read as if, in

paragraph ( a ) , 'Ord inance ' were substituted for

and 1974, No. 25.

' A c t ' (wherever occurring);

(eab) Regulation 3 of Part IV shall be read as if

paragraph (c) were omitted;";

(c)

by omitting paragraph (ea) and substituting the following " (ea) The regulations shall be read as if, after regulation

6 of Part IV, the following regulation were
inserted:

' 6A. The fee payable for testing, verifying or stamping a weight, measure or weighing or measur­ ing instrument of a capacity denominated in

imperial units is the fee that would be payable, in accordance with Table XI, for testing, verifying or stamping a weight, measure or weighing or measuring instrument of the same capacity denominated in metric units.';

(eb) Regulation 25 of Part IV shall be read as if

'Ordinance' were substituted for 'Act';";

(d)

by omitting paragraph (p) and substituting the following " (p) The regulations shall be read as if the following

regulation were substituted for regulation 117 of
Part IV:

'117 . Unless otherwise approved by the Super­ intendent, weights, measures and instruments other than those specified in regulation 116 shall be presented, for the purpose of verification, at the office of an Inspector.';

(pa) Regulation 120 of Part IV shall be read as if para­

graph (d) were omitted;";

(e)

by omitting paragraph (r) and substituting the following " (r) The regulations shall be read as if regulation 121

were excepted;"; and

(f)

by omitting paragraph (gg) and substituting the following " (gg) Table XII of Part X shall be read—

(i)   as if ' other than those provided in the Act, Schedule B,' were omitted; and

(ii)    as if ' under the Ordinance ' were substituted

for ' under the Act'.".

3. The Weights and Measures Regulations are amended by omitting

the Schedule and substituting the following Schedule:

7. (1) Receptables used as measures of volume for the
