Regulations under the Public Baths Ordinance

1931-1940.*

S E L W Y N K E N T H U G H E S , the Minister of State for

Hflhx Ordinance 1031-1040, hereby make the following Regulations.

A M E N D M E N T S OF T H E PUBLIC BATHS R E G U L A T I O N S .

1. After regulation 1 of the Public Baths Regulations the following

regulation is inserted :—

" 1A. I n these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears— Definitions

' family ' means the parents of a child or children under the age

of fifteen years and that child or those children;

' lost property ' means an article which has been, or appears to

a person finding it to have been—

(«) lost in public baths; or

(b) left in public baths by a person who is no longer in

the baths.".

2. Regulation (5 of the Public Paths Regulations is repealed and the

following regulations are inserted in its stead:—

" 0.— (1.) A person who finds lost property in public baths shall u,st nrnPert>

forthwith deliver that property to the superintendent or a bath-

attendant of the baths.

t take possession of lost property found by, or delivered to, him and shall " (2.) The superintendent or a baths attendant of public baths may
enter a description of, and particulars relating to, lost property of
which he takes possession in a register, to be known as the Lost
Property Register, to be kept for the purpose.

" (3-) A person who satisfies the superintendent or a baths attendant of public baths that he is entitled to possession of lost property in the possession of the superintendent or an attendant of the baths may, upon entering his signature and address in the Lost Property Register, be given possession of the property.

" (4.) No action lies against the Commonwealth or against the superintendent or a baths attendant of public baths by reason of the taking or giving of possession of lost property by the superintendent or attendant pursuant to this regulation.

(a) by omitting the table set out in sub-regulation (1.) and

inserting in its stead the following table:—

(b) by omitting sub-regulations (3 . ) , (4.) and (5.) and inserting

in their stead the following sub-regulation :—

" (3.) A charge shall not be made for the admission to

public baths—

(a) of a child under the age of six years;
(b) of a school child in the care of a teacher; or

(c) between the hours of ten o'clock in the morning and twelve o'clock noon on any day other than Saturday or Sunday, of a child under the age of fifteen years who, in the opinion of the superintendent, is in the care of a responsible person.".

4. After regulation 10 of the Public Baths Regulations the following

regulation is inserted :—

" 1 0 A . — (1.) A person who hires a bathing costume shall pay a Deposits on •deposit of One pound, a person who hires a towel shall pay a deposit of towels and Ten shillings and a person who is supplied with a key for a locker shall '"*'

pay a deposit of One shilling.

" (2.) Upon the return of the bathing costume, towel or key, as the

case may be, in good order and condition, at or before the termination of

^ the period for which the costume or towel was hired or the key
was supplied, the deposit shall be refunded.".
