Regulations under the Motor Trafiic Ordinance

1936 1941.*

Ordinance 1936-1941, hereby make the following Regulations.

A M E N D M E N T S OF T H E MOTOR T R A F F I C R E G U L A T I O N S .

1. Regulation 9 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-section

(2.) the words " t h e F o r m " and inserting

in their stead the word and figure " Form 1 ".

2. Regulation 11 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is amended by Regutratton

adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulations:—

"' (3.) AVhere a motor vehicle is propelled wholly or partly by producer gas generated by equipment carried on a trailer, the trailer shall be registered in pursuance of these Regulations but, subject to these Regulations, no registration or renewal fee shall he payable in respect of the trailer if the trailer is used solely or principally for the carriage of the equipment and plant or fuel used in connexion therewith.

(4.) Where a trailer is used partly but not principally for the carriage of equipment and plant or fuel used in connexion with the generation of producer gas for the propulsion of the motor vehicle by which the trailer is drawn, the weight of the trailer (including the producer gas equipment carried thereon) shall, for registration purposes, be reduced in accordance with the following scale:—

(5.) The applicant for registration of a trailer on which is carried equipment for the generation of producer gas shall sign a declaration in accordance with Form 2 or Form 3 in the Fi rs t Schedule, as the

case requires, and, where a trailer is partly used for the carriage of any goods, the Registrar shall determine whether the trailer is used principally for the carriage of those goods or for the carriage of the equipment and plant or fuel used in connexion with the production of producer gas for the propulsion of the motor vehicle by which the trailer is drawn.".

applicant for registration of a trailer, declare that the trailer in respect of which registration is sought by me will be used for the carriage of equipment, plant or fuel used in connexion with the generation of producer gas for the propulsion of motor vehicle Xo. by which the trailer will be drawn, and also for the carriage of other goods, and I declare—

(a) that the estimated average weight of such equipment, plant and fuel

is approximately cwt.;

(b) that the estimated average weight of the other goods is approxi-

mately cwt.;

(c) that whilst carrying the other goods the trailer will travel approxi-

mately miles per annum; and

(d) tha t the total distance to be travelled by the trailer will be

approximately miles per annum.
