Regulations under the Motor Traffic Ordinance 1936.*

Ordinance	1936.

A M E N D M E N T S O F T H E M O T O R T R A F F I C R E G U L A T I O N S t

1 . Regulation 5 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is amended by omitting the

definition of " t h e O r d i n a n c e " and substituting the following definit ions:—

" ' c a r a v a n ' means a covered trailer designed to provide living

accommodat ion;

' special purpose t ra i l e r ' means a trailer of a kind referred to in paragraph (b ) of the definition of ' trailer ' in the Ordinance;

' the O r d i n a n c e ' means the Motor Traffic Ordinance 1936; " .

2 . Regulation 11 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is repealed and the following

regulation subs t i tu ted :—

" 11. (1 ) T h e fee for the registration, or the renewal of the registration, of a

trailer that is a caravan or a special purpose trailer i s —

(a ) wheTe the mass of the trailer does not exceed 400 ki lograms—$10;

(b)	where the mass of the trailer exceeds 400 kilograms but does not exceed 1 tonne—S25; and
(c)	where the mass of the trailer exceeds 1 tonne—$25, together with $10 for each 250 kilograms, or part of 250 kilograms, by which the mass of the trailer exceeds 1 tonne.

" ( 2 ) The fee for the registration, or the renewal of the registration, of a

trailer, other than a caravan or a special purpose trailer, i s—

Authorised by the ACT Parliamentary Counsel—also accessible at

(a ) where the mass of the trailer does not exceed 250 k i lograms—$10;

(b)	where the mass of the trailer exceeds 250 kilograms but does not exceed 1 tonne—-$25; and
(c)	where the mass of the trailer exceeds 1 tonne—$25, together with $10 for each 250 kilograms, or part of 250 kilograms, by which the mass of the trailer exceeds 1 tonne.

" ( 3 ) In addition to the amount payable by virtue of sub-regulation (1 ) or ( 2 ) , a fee of $15 is payable for the registration of a trailer referred to in those sub- regulations.

" (4 ) For the purposes of this regulation, the mass of the trailer means the

gross weight of the trailer unladen." .

3 . Regulation I I A A of the Motor Traffic Regulations is repealed.

4 . Regulation 22 of the Motor Traffic Regulations is amended by omitt ing the

symbol and figure " $1 " and substituting the symbol and figure " $2 " .
