Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955*

I, ROBERT JAMES ELLICOTT, the Minister of State for the Capital Territory, hereby make the following Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955.

AMENDMENTS OF THE MOTOR OMNIBUS SERVICES
REGULATIONS!

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 September

1978.

2. Regulation 3 of the Motor Omnibus Services Regulations is amended by omitting the definition of " period ticket" and substituting the following definition:

" ' period ticket' means—
(a) a daily ticket;
(b) a monthly ticket; or
(c) a quarterly ticket,
sold under the Ordinance;".

and 28 ; 1976, N o . 15; and 1977, No . I.

3. Regulation 16 of the Motor Omnibus Services Regulations is

amended by omitting sub-regulation (2c) and substituting the follow
ing sub-regulation:

" (2c) Where, as a result of a demand under sub-regulation (1),

a person, being a school student or a pensioner, produces for inspection—

(a) a daily ticket sold at a price prescribed for the purpose of sub-section 4BA (3) of the Ordinance;
(b) a monthly ticket sold at a price prescribed for the purpose
of sub-section 4c (2A) of the Ordinance; or

(c) a quarterly ticket,
the person shall be taken not to have complied with the demand unless—

(d) in the case of a person who produces a daily or monthly ticket—he produces written evidence that he is a person entitled to purchase such a ticket at a price prescribed for the purpose of sub-section 4BA (3) or 4c (2A) , as the case may be, of the Ordinance; and
(e) in the case of a person who produces a quarterly ticket— he produces written evidence that he is a person entitled to purchase such a ticket.".
