I, ANTHONY ALLAN STALEY, the Minister of State for the Capital Territory, hereby make the following Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Services Ordin ance 1955.

AMENDMENTS OF THE MOTOR OMNIBUS FARES REGULATIONS!
1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 13 September 1976.
2. Regulation 3 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—
(a)
by inserting in paragraph (a) of the definition of " holiday ", before the words " Public Service employed ", the word " Australian ";
(b)
by omitting the definitions of "school child" and "the Director"; and
(c) by adding at the end thereof the following definition:— " ' the Ordinance' means the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance
1955.".
3. Regulation 4 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—
(a)
by omitting the words " the second column in the Schedule to these Regulations " and substituting the words " column 2 of Schedule 1 "; and
(b)
by omitting the words "the first column" and substituting the word and figure " column 1 ".

4. Regulations 5, 5AA, 5A and 6 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations are repealed and the following regulations substituted:—•
" 5. Subject to regulations 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey by a passenger in an omnibus, being a journey that commences after 9.30 in the forenoon but before 3.30 in the afternoon on a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, is the amount specified in column 2 of Schedule 2 opposite the number of sections of which the journey consists specified in column 1 of that Schedule.

" 6. Subject to regulations 7, 8 and 10, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey by a child in an omnibus is the amount specified in column 2 of Schedule 3 opposite the number of sections of which the journey consists specified in column 1 of that Schedule.
" 6A. For the purposes of sub-section 4BA (2) of the Ordinance, the price payable for a daily ticket is $1.30.
" 6B. For the purposes of sub-section 4BB (2) of the Ordinance, the price payable for a weekly ticket is $3.90.
" 6 c . (1) For the purposes of sub-section 4c (2) of the Ordinance, the price payable for a monthly ticket, other than a monthly ticket referred to in sub section 4c (2A) of the Ordinance, is $14.
" (2) For the purposes of sub-section 4c (2A) of the Ordinance, the conces sional price at which a monthly ticket may be sold to a person who is a full-time student attending a course of study or instruction at a tertiary education institution is $9.
" 6D. (1) For the purposes of sub-section 4CA (2) of the Ordinance, the
prices payable for books of tickets, other than books of tickets referred to in sub
section 4CA (3) of the Ordinance, are—
(a) in respect of a book of 10 tickets—$2;
(b) in respect of a book of 20 tickets—$3.90; and
(c) in respect of a book of 50 tickets—$9.50." (2) For the purposes of sub-section 4c (3) of the Ordinance, the conces sional price at which books of tickets may be sold to school students is, in respect of a book of 25 tickets, $2.25.
" 6E. (1) For the purposes of sub-section 4CB (2) of the Ordinance, the price payable for a term ticket is, subject to sub-regulation (2) , $10.
" (2) For the purposes of sub-section 4CB (2) of the Ordinance, where a term ticket is purchased after the commencement of the school term to which it relates, the price payable for that ticket is, subject to sub-regulation (4) , the amount ascertained in accordance with the formula—

where—
A is the number of weeks remaining in the school term at the time at which the ticket is purchased; B is the amount referred to in sub-regulation (1 ) ; and
C is the number of weeks in the school term.
" (3) For the purposes of sub-regulation (2) , where a school term, or the part of a school term remaining when a term ticket is purchased in relation to that term, consists of a part or parts of a week or of a number of whole weeks and a part or parts of a week, that part of a week or each of those parts of a week, as the case requires, shall be deemed to be a whole week.
" (4) Where the price payable for a ticket referred to in sub-regulation (2) would, but for this sub-regulation, include a fraction of a cent, that fraction of a cent shall—
(a)
where it is not less than one-half of a cent—be deemed to be a whole cent; and
(b) where it is less than one-half of a cent—be disregarded.".
5. Regulation 9 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the words "this regulation" and substituting the word and figure "sub-regulation (3) ";
(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the word and figure " Regulation 6 " and substituting the word and figure " regulation 6 ";
(c) by omitting sub-regulations (2) and (2A);
(d) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) the words "The preceding pro visions of this regulation d o " and substituting the words " Sub-
regulation (1) does "; and(e) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) the words "or (2) of this regulation, as the case requires ".
6. Regulation 10 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—
(a) by adding at the end of paragraph (1) (c) the word " o r " ; (b) by omitting paragraph (1) (d) ;
(c) by adding at the end of paragraph (2) (b) the word " or "; (d) by omitting paragraph (2) (c ) ;and (e) by omitting sub-regulations (2A), (2B) and (2c) .
7. Regulation 12 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended— (a) by omitting the word " stop " and substituting the word " sign "; and
(b) by omitting the words " Twenty-five pounds" and substituting the figures " $50 ".
8. The Schedule to the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is repealed and the
following Schedules substituted:—
