Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955'

I, ROBERT JAMES ELLICOTT, the Minister of State for the Capital Terri­ tory, hereby make the following Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Ser­ vices Ordinance 1955.

AMENDMENTS O F THE MOTOR OMNIBUS FARES

REGULATIONS 2

1. Regulations 4 and 6 of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations are repealed and the following regulations substituted:

Ordinary fares

"4. Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey is the amount calculated by multiplying 40 cents by the number equal to the number of sections of which the journey consists.

Children's fares

"5 . Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey by a child or a school student is the amount calculated by multiplying 20 cents by the number equal to the number of sections of which the journey consists.".

"(3) For the purposes of sub-section 4BA (3) of the Ordinance—
(a) the price prescribed in relation to children and school students is 80 cents; and
(b)
the price prescribed in relation to pensioners is 70 cents.".

Prices for daily tickets

2. Regulation 6A of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—

(a)

by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "$1.30" and substituting "$1.50"; and

(b)

by omitting sub-regulation (3) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

Prices for monthly tickets

3. Regulation 6B of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—

(a)

by inserting in sub-regulation (1) "of the Ordinance" after "4C (2A)"; and

(b)

by omitting sub-regulations (3) and (4) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

"(3) For the purposes of sub-section 4C (2A) of the Ordinance—
(a) the price prescribed in relation to children, school students and pensioners is $6; and
(b) the price prescribed in relation to full-time students attending a course of study or instruction at a tertiary education insti­ tution is $14.".

Prices for books of tickets

4. Regulation 6D of the Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (a) "$2.60" and substituting "$3.00";
(b) by omitting from paragraph (1) (b) "$5.20" and substituting "$6.00";

(c)

by omitting from paragraph (1) (c) "$13.00" and substituting "$15.00"; and

(d)

by omitting sub-regulation (3) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

"(3) For the purposes of sub-section 4CA (3) of the Ordinance—

(a) the price prescribed in relation to children and school students is—

(i)     for a book of 10 tickets—$1.30;

(ii)     for a book of 20 tickets—$2.60; and

(iii)     for a book of 50 tickets—$6.50; and

(b) the price prescribed in relation to pensioners is—

(i)     for a book of 10 tickets—$1.00;

(ii)
for a book of 20 tickets—$2.00; and

(iii)     for a book of 50 tickets—$5.00.".
