Regulations under the Leases Ordinance 1918-1955.*

Leases Ordinance 1918-1955.

A M E N D M E N T S O F T H E L E A S E S R E G U L A T I O N S , f

1. Regulation 3 of the Leases Regulations is amended by omitting Definitions,

the definition of " Returned Sold ier" and inserting in its stead the
following definition:—

" Returned Soldier " means a member of the Forces as defined by section. 24, 100, 105 or 1 0 7 B of the Repatriation Act 1920-1955 and includes a member of the Forces referred to in section 1 0 7 E of that Act.".

2. Regulation 5 of the Leases Regulations is amended by inserting, purposes (or J* | ^ d n d m a y
after the word " horticultural,", the word " dairying,".

3. Regulation 7 of the Leases Regulations is repealed and the

following regulation inserted in its stead:—

" 7 .—(l . ) The period for which a lease may be granted for grazing, Period of

fruit-growing, horticultural, dairying or agricultural purposes is a
period not exceeding fifty years.

" (2.) The period for which a lease may be granted for a purpose other than those specified in the last preceding sub-regulation is a period of ninety-nine years.".

4. Regulation 9 of the Leases Regulations is amended— Matters to be

(a) by omitting the word " i t " (first occurring) and inserting consideration

in its stead the word " he " ; and ^ a ™ ' 8 * 6 1 "
(b) by omitting paragraph (e) of sub-regulation (1.) and for8grant! &c. inserting in its stead the following paragraph and words :— of lease-
"(e) any other matters which he thinks fit,

shall determine whether the applicant or the proposed assignee, as the case may be, is eligible to become a lessee.".
