A M E N D M E N T S O F T H E E D U C A T I O N R E G U L A T I O N S .

1. Regulation 19 of the Education Regulations is amended by omit-

ting the words " sixpence ", " ninepence ", " twelve pence " and " fifteen S^yancs.

2.—(1.) Regulation 27 of the Education Regulations is amended— candidate!

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (1.) the figures " 5 3 5 " , " 6 0 5 " , " 6 7 5 " , " 7 4 5 " , " 8 1 5 " and " 885 ", and inserting in their stead the figures " 656 " " 736 ", " 816 ", " 896 ", " 976 " and " 1056 " respectively; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (1.) the ' figures " 685 ", " 755 ", " 825 ", " 895 ", " 965 " and

" 1035 ", and inserting in their stead the figures " 806 ", " 8 8 6 " , " 9 6 6 " , " 1 0 4 6 " , " 1 1 2 6 " and " 1 2 0 6 " respectively.

(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on

the twenty-ninth day of September, 1951.

by omitting sub-regulation (3.) and inserting in its stead the following TeacherarteD 3.—(1.) Regulation 4 3 A of the Education Regulations is amended Nursery
sub-regulation :— scholarships.

" (3.) A Nursery Kindergarten Teacher Scholarship shall com-

prise—

(a) where the holder lives away from home in order to attend the College—a grant of Two hundred and fifty pounds for the first year's course, Two hundred and fifty pounds for the second year's course and such amount as the Minister determines for the third year's course;

(b) where the holder does not live away from home in order to attend the College—a grant of One hundred and sixty pounds for the first year's course, One hundred and sixty pounds for the second year's course and such amount as the Minister determines for the third year's course; and

(c) a grant of Fifteen pounds for each year's course for text- books, college material for personal use or for other incidentals in connexion with the training,

and those amounts shall be payable in equal instalments at the com-
mencement of each term of the Kindergarten Training College.".

(2.) Subject to the next succeeding sub-regulation, the amend- ments made by this regulation apply in respect of the year 1952 and subsequent years.

(3.) The holder of a Nursery Kindergarten Scholarship for the year 1951 shall be paid in respect of that year, in addition to the amount payable apart from this sub-regulation, one-half of the differ- ence between that amount and the amount that would have been payable if the amendments made by this regulation had applied in respect of that year.
