Regulations under the Education Ordinance 1937-1956.*

I ALLEN FAIRHALL, the Minister of State for the Interior, in pursuance 1956, hereby make the following Regulations. , of the powers conferred upon me by the Education Ordinance 1937-

AMENDMENTS OF THE EDUCATION REGULATIONS, t

1. Regulation 27 of the Education Regulations is amended— Candidates
eligible.

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (1.) the figures " 8 7 5 " , " 9 5 5 " , " 1 , 0 3 5 " , " 1 , 1 1 5 " , " 1 , 1 9 5 " and " 1,275 " and inserting in their stead the figures " 900 ", "1 ,020" , "1 ,140" , "1 ,260" , " 1 , 3 8 0 " and "1 ,500" , respectively; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph {b) of sub-regulation (1.) the figures " 1 , 0 2 5 " , " 1 , 1 0 5 " , " 1 , 1 8 5 " , " 1 , 2 6 5 " , " 1 , 3 4 5 " and " 1,425 " and inserting in their stead the figures " 1,100 ", "1 ,220" , "1 ,340" , "1 ,460" , " 1 , 5 8 0 " and "1 ,700" , respectively.

" such sum as shall be assessed by him as equivalent to the amount of the moneys paid by the Minister to the Student in respect of the scholarship " and inserting in their stead the words " such sum as shall be assessed by the Minister as equivalent to the amount of the moneys paid by the Minister to or on behalf of the Student in respect of the scholarship, or such lesser sum as the Minister may determine ".
