Community Hospital Board hereby makes the following amendments to By-laws.

A M E N D M E N T S OE T H E CANBERRA COMMUNITY
H O S P I T A L BY-LAWS.
| 1. By-law 2 of Pa r t I I . is amended by inserting after | " s h a l l " |
the words " , subject to directions by. the Board,".
2. By-law 6 of Pa r t I I . is amended by adding the words " subject
to appeal to tho Board ".
(o) by omitting " 2 4 " and inserting in its stead " 1 2 " ;
3. By-law 10 of Par t I I . is amended by inserting after " m a y " the
words " , subject to directions by the Board,".
4. By-law 11 of Part II. is amended— (a) by inserting after " Honorary " tho words " or Visiting " ;
(c) by omitting the words "Any leave of absence longer than five days must be arranged through the Board", and inserting in their stead the following words:—
" Any application for leave of absence for longer than 24 hours shall be made in writing addressed to the Chairman and lodged with the Secretary. Recreation leave, sick leave and specific hours of duty shall be as directed by the Board".
5. By-law 12 of Part II. is amended— (b) bjr omitting the words "Matron and the Secretary" and " , with the concurrence of the Matron,";
inserting in their stead the words " secretarial staff ".
6. By-law 13 of Part I I . is amended by inserting after " shall" the
words " , subject to direction by theTBoard,".
7. By-law 21 of Part II. is amended— (a) by omitting the words " an appeal to " and inserting in their
stead the words " directions by " ;
(b) by adding the following words:—
" , and any case where admission is refused shall he immediately reported in writing to the Chairman of the Board, with a full statement of the circumstances leading to the action taken.".
8. By-law 32 of Par t I I . is amended by omitting all the words after " shall " (second occurring) and inserting in their stead the following words:—
" submit a report to the Board at each ordinary meeting, which
shall deal with—-
(a) fire drill (setting out the time when held, and the number
and classification of the staff in attendance);
(&) lectures to the nursing staff; and
(c) any matter which he may deem it his duty .to bring under
the notice of the Board.".
9. By-law 34 of Par t I I . is amended by adding the following
| words:— |
" ; but the Board may, in its discretion, direct that any portion of these by-laws shall not apply to a person appointed temporarily to act as Medical Superintendent".
10. By-law 6 of Part VII. is amended— (a) by omitting the words' " Medical Superintendent" and
inserting in their stead the word " Secretary " ;
(b) by adding the following words:—
" A copy of such report shall be forwarded by the
Secretary to the Medical Superintendent".
