Regulations under the Building and Services

Ordinance 1924-1942.*

Interior, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Building and

"'Services Ordinance 1924-1942, hereby make the following Regulations.

A M E N D M E N T S OF T H E C A N B E R R A B U I L D I N G

R E G U L A T I O N S .

6. Regulation 26 of the Canberra Building Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (1.) , after the word "b r i ckwork" (first occurring) the words " or brick veneer,".

7. After regulation 70 of the Canberra Building Regulations the

following regulation is inserted:—

unauthorized " 7 0 A . — (1.) Where a building or other structure is erected on anj land leased for residential or building purposes in the City Area and the prescribed permit for its erection has not been obtained from the proper authority, both the builder of that building or structure, and the lessee or occupier, as the case may be, of the land on which it is erected shall be guilty of an offence.

Penal ty : Fifty pounds.
" (2.) The builder, lessee or occupier of any such land shall, if

required by notice in writing by the proper authority so to do, demolish any such building or structure within such period as is specified in the notice.

Penal ty : Five pounds for every day after the last day of the period sc specified during which the building remains undemolished.".
