and Services Ordinance 1924-1942, hereby make the following
Regulations.

AMENDMENTS OF THE CANBERRA AND JERVIS BAY ELECTRIC SUPPLY

REGULATIONS.

1.— (1.) Regulation 6B of the Canberra and Jervis Bay Electric Joveslnd^'1

Supply Regulations is amended— electric water

(a) by omitting paragraph (d) and inserting in its stead the

following paragraph :—

" (d) ( i ) The hirer agrees to consume in each period of J

twelve calendar months calculated from the date of the first quarterly reading of the meter for each such apparatus subsequent to the date of its installation such minimum number of units as the Minister from time time determines, but not exceeding eight hundred units in resjiect of an electric stove and four hundred units in respect of an electric water heater, as registered by a

^ separate meter for each such apparatus.

( i i ) If in any such period the hirer does not con- sume in any such apparatus such minimum number of units, the hirer agrees to pay at the rate of l i d . per unit for each unit by which the number of units actually con- sumed as registered by the meter falls short of the relevant number of units for the apparatus concerned:

Provided that where, under this sub- paragraph, a hirer incurs, in respect of any such period, a liability to pay in respect of any such apparatus a sum of money, the obligation shall be discharged if the con- sumption of electricity registered on the power and light meters during that period amounts to a total of not less than one thousand units.

(ii i) The hirer agrees to pay at the rate of l.i<l. per unit for each unit consumed during the period commencing on the date the appa- ratus is installed up to and including the date of the fir.st quarterly reading of the meter for such apparatus subsequent to the date of its installation."; and

• (fr) by omitting the proviso at the end thereof.

(2.) Thi.s regulation shall be deemed to have commenced on the

first day of April, 1943.

Regulations is amended—

(it) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words " Electrical Wiring Rules of the institution of Engineers, Australia (in these Regulations referred to as ' Insti tute Rules ' ) " and inserting in their stead the words " Standards Asso- ciation of Australia Wiring Rules Xo. 0 . C. 1, Par t s 1.
