I section (1 . ) of section 5 of the Buildings {Design and Siting) Ordinance 1964-

, satisfied that it is desirable to make regulations for the purposes of sub­ 1970 for the purpose of securing the carrying out or observance of the policies of the National Capital Development Commission with respect to the planning and development of the City of Canberra , hereby make the following Regulations

under the Buildings {Design and Siting) Ordinance 1964-1970.

A M E N D M E N T S O F T H E B U I L D I N G S ( D E S I G N A N D S I T I N G ) R E G U L A T I O N S

1. Regulation 2 of the Buildings (Design and Siting) Regulations is amended— (a ) by omitting from paragraph ( i ) the word " and "; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following p a r a g r a p h s : —

" (k) Oaks Estate, being the land described in Part I. of the

Schedule to these Regulations;

" (/) the Village of Hall, being the land described in Part II. of

the Schedule to these Regulations; and

" ( m ) the Village of Tharwa , being the land described in Part I I I .

of the Schedule to these Regulations.".

2 . The Buildings (Design and Siting) Regulations are amended by adding at the end thereof the following Schedule:—

DESCRIPTION OF OAKS [-STATE, THE VILLAGE OF HALL A N D THE VILLAGE

OF THARWA

PART I.—OAKS ESTATE

First: All that piece of land situated in the Australian Capital Territory and described in Deposited Plan 2207.

Secondly: All that piece of land known as " Hazelbrook " containing an area of 12 acres t rood more or less: Commencing at the northeastern corner of Lot 13 of Section L of Deposited Plan 2207 and bounded thence by the northwestern boundary of that Lot 13 bearing 246 degrees 1 minute 707 links; thence by the northeastern boundary of that Lot 13 its prolongation and northeastern boundaries of Lot 34, Lot 35 and Lot 19 of Section K of Deposited Plan 2207 bearing in all 327 degrees 31 minutes 1434.2 links; thence by a south­ eastern bank of Molonglo River upstream and a southwestern bank of Queanbeyan River upstream to the point of commencement.

Thirdly: All that piece of land known as "The Oaks" containing an area of 2 acres 2 roods 22 perches more or less: Commencing at the northeastern corner of Lot 10 of Section B of Deposited Plan 2207 and bounded thence by a southeastern bank of Molonglo River upstream to its intersection with the western side of Hill Street; thence by that side of that street bearing 179 degrees 24 minutes 30 seconds 936.25 links; thence by northwestern boundaries of Lots 14 and 13 and part of the northwestern boundary of Lot 12 of Section B of Deposited Plan 2207 bearing in all 265 degrees 54 minutes 343.66 links; thence by the northeastern boundary of Lot 10 of Section B of Deposited Plan 2207 bearing 356 degrees 3 minutes 30 seconds 550 links to the point of commencement.

PART I I . — T H E VILLAGE OF HALL

All that piece of land situated in the Australian Capital Territory and comprised in the

Public Plan of the Village of Hall a copy of which is held in the office of the Registrar of

Titles under the Real Property Ordinance 1925-1970.

PART I I I . — T H E VILLAGE OP THARWA

All that piece of land in the Australian Capital Territory being the Village of Tharwa Paddys River District: commencing at the easternmost corner of Block 42 of Plan catalogued in the Office of the Registrar of Titles Canberra Deposited Plan 61 and bounded thence on the southwest by a northeastern boundary of that block being the southwestern side of Johnson Street northwesterly to the northwestern side of a road 150 links wide of Plan catalogued in the Office of the Registrar of Titles Canberra Deposited Plan 108; thence on the southwest by that northwestern side of that road southwesterly to the southernmost corner of Section 8 of that plan; thence on the southwest by the southwestern boundary of that section northwesterly to the southernmost corner of Block 72 of Plan catalogued in the Office of the Registrar of Titles Canberra Deposited Plan 954; thence on the west generally by western boundaries of that block northerly to a southwestern side of North Street; thence on the southwest by that southwestern side northwesterly to its intersection with a southwesterly prolongation of a northwestern boundary of Block 2 of Plan catalogued in the Office of the Registrar of Titles Canberra Deposited Plan 1083; thence on the northwest by that prolongation, that boundary, a northwestern boundary of a drainage reserve 70 links wide and a northwestern boundary of Block 74 of that plan northeasterly to the southernmost corner of Block 75 of Plan catalogued in the Office of the Registrar of Titles Canberra Deposited Plan 1189; thence on the northwest north and east by northwestern, northern and eastern boundaries of that block northeasterly, easterly and southerly to the intersection of the northwestern side of Union Street with the northeastern side of Bridge Street; thence on the northwest generally by southeastern boundaries of Block 32 Paddy's River District and a prolongation northeasterly to the left bank of Murrumbidgee River; thence on the northeast generally by that left bank south­ easterly to its intersection with a northwestern boundary of Block 38 of Plan catalogued in the Office of the Registrar of Titles Canberra Deposited Plan 151; thence on the southeast by that northwestern boundary being the southeastern side of South Street and its prolongation southwesterly to the point of commencement.
