Regulations under the Building Ordinance 1972*

I, ROBERT JAMES ELLICOTT, the Minister of State for the Capital Territory, hereby make the following Regulations under the Building Ordinance 1972.

AMENDMENTS OF THE BUILDING REGULATIONS t

1. Regulation 4 of the Building Regulations is repealed and the

following regulation substituted:

" 4 . (1) The prescribed fee for the issue of a Builder's Licence

Class A is—

(a) in the case of the issue of a licence to a person who is the holder of a Builder's Licence Class A—$100; and

(b) in any other case—$150.

" (2) The prescribed fee for the issue of a Builder's Licence Class

B is—

(a) in the case of the issue of a licence to a person who is the holder of a Builder's Licence Class B—$80; and

(b) in any other case—$120.

" (3) The prescribed fee for the issue of a Builder's Licence Class

C is—

(a) in the case of the issue of a licence to a person who is the holder of a Builder's Licence Class C—$60; and

(b) in any other case—$90.

" (4) The prescribed fee for the issue of a Builder's Licence Class

D is—

(a) in the case of the issue of a licence to a person who is the holder of a Builder's Licence Class D—$60; and

(b) in any other case—$90.".

2. Regulation 6 of the Building Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (a) all the words after " building" and substituting ", other than a building referred to in paragraph (1) (aa )—the fee calculated in accordance with Part I of Schedule 2;";

(b) by inserting after paragraph (1) (a ) the following

paragraph:
" (aa) where the plans and specifications provide for the

erection of a garage, carport or other structure not attached to, or forming part of, a residential building—0.5% of the cost of the erection; and "; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) " $10 " and substitut­ ing " $15 ".

3. Regulation 9 of the Building Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (a) all the words after " building" and substituting " other than a building referred to in paragraph (1) (aa )—the fee calculated in accordance with Part I of Schedule 2;";

(b) by inserting after paragraph (1) (a) the following

paragraph:
" (aa) in the case of a permit for the erection of a garage,

carport or other structure not attached to, or forming part of, a residential building—0.5% of the cost of the erection; and ";

(c)	by omitting from paragraph (3) (a) " $10 " and substitut­
ing " $ 2 0 " ; and
(d)	by omitting from paragraph (3) (b) " $20" and substitut­

4. Regulation 11 of the Building Regulations is amended by ing " $ 3 0 " .

•nutting all the words after " permit" and substituting—

" is—

(a) where the permit has not been extended previously—

(i)   for a period of extension not exceeding 6 months, $15; and

(ii)   for a period of extension exceeding 6 months, $15 plus $15 for each period of 3 months, or part of such a period, exceeding 6 months; and

(b) where the permit has been extended previously—$15 for each period of 3 months, or part of such a period, by which the permit is to be extended.".

5. Regulation 15 of the Building Regulations is amended by omit­

ting " $10" and substituting " $15 ".

6. Regulation 16 of the Building Regulations is amended by omit­

ting from sub-regulation (2) " $5 " and substituting " $10".

7. Regulation 17 of the Building Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "One dollar" and substituting " $5 "; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:
" (3) The prescribed fee for a statement in writing of
the Building Controller supplied to the lessee or owner of
a parcel of land and specifying information obtained from
the records of the Building Controller kept by him in
relation to such matters under the Ordinance, these Regula­
tions or the repealed laws as relate to the parcel of land

8. The Building Regulations are amended as set out in the

Schedule.
