Amendment Statement of Principles

concerning

ISCHAEMIC HEART DISEASE

No. 34 of 2014

for the purposes of the

Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

and

Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004

  1. This Instrument may be cited as Amendment Statement of Principles concerning ischaemic heart disease No. 34 of 2014.

  1. The Repatriation Medical Authority amends, under subsection 196B(8) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, Statement of Principles concerning ischaemic heart disease Instrument No. 90 of 2007, as amended by Instrument No. 44 of 2009, Instrument No. 97 of 2010, and Instrument No. 126 of 2011, by:

A.        Inserting new factor "(pb)" following factor "(pa)" in clause 6 as follows:

"(pb)    for acute myocardial infarction or sudden death from ischaemic heart disease only, undertaking physical activity of six METs or more within the 12 hours before the clinical onset of ischaemic heart disease; or"; and

B         Inserting new factor "(ffb)" following factor "(ffa)" in clause 6 as follows:

"(ffb)   for acute myocardial infarction or sudden death from ischaemic heart disease only, undertaking physical activity of six METs or more within the 12 hours before the clinical worsening of ischaemic heart disease; or".

  1. The amendments made by this instrument apply to all matters to which Instrument No. 90 of 2007, as amended by Instrument No. 44 of 2009, Instrument No. 97 of 2010, and Instrument No. 126 of 2011; section 120B of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 and section 339 of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 apply.

  1. The amendments made by this instrument take effect from 26 March 2014.
