AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY.

Regulations under the Police Ordinance 1927-1934.

I Commonwealth of Australia, in pursuance of the powers conferred
, ' t j i e Police Ordinance 1927-1934, hereby make the following

Regulations.

A M E N D M E N T OF. T H E P O L I C E REGULATION'S .

1. Regulation 2 of the Police Regulations is amended by inserting Definitions,

in sub-regulation (1 . ) , after the definition of "Member of the Police

Force", the following definition:—

' " t h e Secretary ' means the Secretary to the Attorney-General's

Department; ".

2. After regulation 10 of ihe Police Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—

" 1 5 A . — (1.) If any member of the Force in the discharge of his sicki>-avefor

duty sustains bodily injury or contracts illness directly attributable to nrui?ess

his duty of such a nature as to incapacitate him from duty, and the mntrartcdon the member did not contribute to the injury or illness by negligence or misconduct, the Secretary, or, in the case of leave not exceeding seven consecutive days, the Chief Officer, may grant that member leave on full pay during the incapacity.

(2.) Leave granted in pursuance of the last preceding sub-regulation shall not exceed a continuous period of fifty-two weeks inclusively of any other leave that may be granted with pay.

(3.) Leave may be granted in pursuance of sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation notwithstanding that the member has no sick leave standing to bis credit and sick leave granted in pursuance of that sub-regulation shall not be debited against any sick leave standing to the credit of the member.

(4.) A member of the Force to whom sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation applies shall furnish to the Secretary or Chief Officer, as the case may be, such information concerning the injury or illness and shall submit to such medical examination as the Secretary or Chief Officer requires.".

3. Regulation IG of the Police Regulations is amended by adding sick leave,

at the end thereof the following sub-regulation—

" (4.) Nothing in this regulation shall apply to leave granted in pursuance of the last preceding regulation.' '.
