1. Regulation 2 of the Plant Diseases Regulations is amended by r-ui-ts.
inserting, after the words " P a r t VI.—Control of fruit fly." the words

2. Regulation 9 of the P lan t Diseases Regulations is amended by Snicof
| inserting, after sub-regulation (1 . ) , the following sub-regulation:— | potatoes. |
| " ( I A . ) At the time of any sale, or offor for sale, of potatoes, the vendor or offerer for sale of the potatoes shall state to the customer the grade of potatoes so sold or offered for sale and, where a docket relating to the sale is delivered to the customer, shall endorse on the <locket the grade of potatoes sold. |

| (2.) A certificate of registration of an orchard or nursery issued prior to the commencement of this regulation shall continue in force as if it had been issued after such commencement. |

(b) particulars of trees removed from the orchard since the date

8. Regulation 37 of the P lan t Diseases Regulations is amended by Treatment to

| " (4.) A person shall not, during the period commencing on the first day of October in any year and ending on the thirtieth day of April iu the succeeding year, import any fruit into the Territory from any district declared, in pursuance of the law of any State, to be a fly-infected district unless— |
(a) he produces to an inspector a certificate signed by the officer thereto authorized under the law of the State from which • it is sought to import the fruit, that he has inspected the fruit and that it is free from infection of fruit fly; and
(h) the covering or package which contains the fruit is legibly
marked with the name and address of the person or firm9. After Part VI. of the Plant Diseases Regulations the following
Part is inserted :—
" P A R T VJA.—CONTROL OF APHIDIDAE AND FUNGI.

(a) when the trees are completely dormant, thoroughly spray the tree with a mixture of tar distillate and water mixed in a proportion of one gallon tar distillate to thirty-five gallons of water; and
(l>) when the huds on the tree are beginning to swell, hut not,
less than four weeks after the tree has been sprayed with the mixture of tar distillate and water, thoroughly spray the tree with bordeaux mixture.".

| Hchodule. | 10. The Fourth Schedule to the Plant Diseases Regulations is |
amended—.
(a) by omitting the words " Secretary, Department of the Interior" (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead " Dircotor-vGeneral of "Works "; and
(b) by omitting the letters "F.C.T." (wherever occurring) and
inserting in their stead the letters " A.O.T.".
