Regulations under the Fish Protection Ordinance

192&-1931:

T J O H N A R T H U R P E R K I N S , the Minister of State for the
A ,• Interior , in pursuance of tlio powers conferred upon mo by the
Seat of Government {Administration) Ordinance 1930-1933 and the
Fish Protection Ordinance 1929-1931, hereby make the following-

Regulations to come into operation forthwith.

A M E N D M E N T O F T H E F I S H P R O T E C T I O N R E G U L A T I O N S .

1. Regulation 3 of the Eish Protection Regulations is amended by omitting the definition of " Civic Administrator ".

2. Regulation 4 of the Fish Protection Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation. ("3.) the words " C i v i c Adminis t ra tor"
and inserting in lieu thereof the word " Minister ".

3. Regulation 4A of the Fish Protection Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-Te'guiafioh (2.) the words " Civic. Administrator " and inserting in lieu thereof the word " Registrar ".

4. Regulation 1 of the F ish Protection Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulations (1.) and (2.) and inserting in lieu thereof the following sub-regulations:—

"(1 . ) The taking of Trout (Salmo fario and Salmo irideus) by any close seasons,

means whatever, in any waters during the period commencing on the first day of May and ending on the thirt ieth day of September, both days inclusive, in every year, is prohibited."
" (2 . ) The taking, by any means whatever, in the waters of the Murrumbidgeo River or the Molonglo River, during the period com- mencing on the first day of May and ending on the thirtieth day of November, both days inclusive, in every year, of. any of the following- kinds or species of fish, is prohibited:—

5. Regulation 9 of the Fish Protection Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted iii lieu thereof:—

sells, or offers or exposes lor sale, or has in his possession, or on his of asiics.
premises, or in his boat, any fish of any kind or species mentioned
hereunder of a less size than that set opposite the name of such fish
shall be guilty of an offence.

Pena l ty : for the first offence Two pounds, and for the second or any subsequent offence, Five pounds, in respect of each and every fish so taken, bought, sold, offered, or exposed for sale, or in the possession of any Such person :—

(2.) For the purposes of this regulation, the length of any fish shall be taken to mean the measurement from the point of the snout to the end of the tail."

6. Regulation 10 of the Fish Protection Regulation is amended hy omitting the words " Oivic Administrator " and inserting in lieu thereof the word " Minister ".
