Amendment Statement of Principles

concerning

VASCULAR DEMENTIA

No. 63 of 2006

for the purposes of the

Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

and

Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004

  1. This Instrument may be cited as Statement of Principles concerning vascular dementia No. 63 of 2006.

  1. The Repatriation Medical Authority amends, under subsection 196B(2) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, Statement of Principles concerning vascular dementia No. 21 of 2006 by:

(A)deleting the definition for “cerebrovascular disease” in clause 9 and replacing it with the following definition:

'“cerebrovascular disease” means any abnormality of the brain resulting from a pathologic process of the cerebral blood vessels or decreased blood flow to the brain, including cerebral ischaemia, intracerebral haemorrhage or cerebral infarction;'

  1. The amendment made by this instrument applies to all matters to which Instrument No. 21 of 2006, section 120A of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 and section 338 of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 apply.

  1. The amendment made by this instrument takes effect from 8 November 2006.
