Amendment Statement of Principles

concerning

MALIGNANT NEOPLASM OF THE LUNG

No. 87 of 2007

for the purposes of the

Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

and

Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004

1. This Instrument may be cited as Statement of Principles concerning malignant neoplasm of the lung No. 87 of 2007.

1. The Repatriation Medical Authority amends, under subsection 196B(2) and (8) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, Statement of Principles concerning malignant neoplasm of the lung No. 17 of 2006, by:

(A)replacing the existing definition of "a substance from the specified list" in clause 9 with the following definition:

""a substance from the specified list" means:

(i)beryllium;

(ii)bis(chloromethyl)ether;

(iii)cadmium;

(iv)chloromethyl methyl ether;

(v)cobalt metal with tungsten carbide;

(vi)hexavalent chromate;

(vii)inorganic arsenic; or

(viii)nickel;".

1. The amendments made by this instrument apply to all matters to which section 120A of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 and section 338 of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 apply.

1. The amendment made by this instrument takes effect from 4 July 2007.
