Amendment Statement of Principles

concerning

DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS

No. 45 of 2009

for the purposes of the

Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

and

Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004

1. This Instrument may be cited as Statement of Principles concerning deep vein thrombosis No. 45 of 2009.

1. The Repatriation Medical Authority amends, under subsection 196B(2) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, Statement of Principles concerning deep vein thrombosis No. 74 of 2008 by:

(A)Replacing the word "hyperhomocystinaemia" in clause 6(p) with the word "hyperhomocysteinaemia";

(B)Deleting the definition of "hyperhomocystinaemia" from clause 9; and

(C)Inserting a new definition for "hyperhomocysteinaemia" in clause 9 as follows:

'"hyperhomocysteinaemia" means a condition characterised by an excess of homocysteine in the blood;'.

1. The amendment made by this instrument applies to all matters to which Instrument No. 74 of 2008, section 120A of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 and section 338 of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 apply.

1. The amendment made by this instrument takes effect from 1 July 2009.
