REGULATION UNDER THE MEAT ORDINANCE 1920-1927.

PU R S U A N T to the powers conferred upon it by the Meat Ordinance

1920-1927, the Federal Capital Commission appointed under

the Seal of Qovernment {Administration) Act 1924-1926 hereby makes

the following Regulation, to come into operation forthwith.

AMENDMENT OF M E A T REQULATIOKS 1926.

After regulation 13 of the Meat Regulations the following regulation

is inserted:—--

" 13A.—(1 . ) Without lessening the effect of the last preceding regulation, if the Controller or an Inspector is at any time satisfied tha t the portions of the abattoirs used by any person slaughtering thereat are not in a clean and sanitary condition, or that an approved slaughtering place is not in a clean and sanitary con- dition, the Controller or Inspector may require that person, or the person for whom the first-mentioned person is slaughtering, or both, to cause those portions of the abattoirs or the approved slaughtering place to be put, at such ti'r". ~~ Controller or the Inspector specifies, in such condition as the Controller or Inspector directs.

" (2 . ) If any person so required in pursuance of the last preceding sub-regulation fails to cause the portions of the abattoirs or the approved slaughtering place to be put at the time specified, in the condition directed by the Controller or the Inspector, the Controller or the Inspector may cause the portions of the abattoirs or the approved slaughtering place to be put in that condition, and the cost incurred in so doing shall be a debt due to the Commission from the person failing to comply with the requirement, or, where two or more persons who have been so required fail to comply with the requirement, shall be a debt due to the Commission from those persons jointly and severally, and- in either such case the debt shall be recoverable accordingly in any court of competent jurisdiction.".
