Charles Lydiard Aubrey Abbott, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, hereby make the following Eegulation to come into operation forthwith.

AMENDMENT OF LIQUOR BEGTTLATIONS.

Eegulation 3 of the Liquor Eegulatious is amended by inserting,

after paragraph (h), the following paragraph:—

"(ha) After section 57A the following section shall be deemed to

be inserted:—

' 5 7 B . — ( 1 . ) The Minister may grant, with respect to any premises in which the Commission is authorized to sell liquor, to the Commission or any person authorized by the Commission to exercise on behalf of the Commission the Commission's power to sell liquor, a permit for the sale, disposal, or supply, in accordance with the provisions of this Section, of liquor for consumption upon those premises to persons lawfully present at any dance conducted by the Commission on those premises or at any ball, dance, social, smoke concert or supper held on those premises and specified in the permit.

' ( 2 ) Nothing in the Liquor Acts shall be held to prevent the sale, disposal or supply of liquor on any such premises, with respect to which a permit under this Section has been granted and is in force, to any person (other than a person referred to in Section 49 of this Act) for consumption upon those premises, during the hours specified in the permit, provided that that person is lawfully present at a dance conducted by the Commission on those premises or at a ball, dance, social, smoke concert or supper specified in the. permit, and that the liquor is not sold, disposed of or supplied or consumed in any bar or any par t of the licensed premises other than the rooms specified in the permit.

' ( 3 ) The Minister may at any time revoke any permit granted under this Section.
' (4 ) The expression 'L iquor Acts ' whenever used in this Section
shall be taken to mean the Liquor Act of 1912 as amended by
subsequent Acts, including the ' Liquor (Amendment) Act 1927 ' " .
