Regulation under the Hospital Tax Ordinance 1933-1934.

-L, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon me hy the Hospital

Tax Ordinance 1933-1934, hereby make the following Regulation.

A M E N D M E N T OE H O S P I T A L . T A X REGULATION'S .

Regulation 6 of the Hospital Tax Regulations, as amended by regulation dated 22nd March, 1934, is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

" 6. Every in-patient and every out-patient who has been admitted into or maintained by, or who has received relief from, the Hospital shall be liable to pay the actual cost thereof or such sum as is deter- mined in accordance with the following scale of charges, whichever is the lower:—

A.—General in-patient charges—

Pat ients occupying beds in private wards—Pour guineas per

week; and, in addition, the cost of all medications.

Pat ients occupying beds in community wards—Three guineas

per week; and, in addition, the cost of all medications.

Pat ients occupying screened beds in public wards—Three guineas per week; and, in addition, the cost of all medica- tions.

Pat ients occupying beds in public wards—Two guineas per

week; and, in addition, the cost of all medications.

Pat ients admitted to wards following minor operations and

discharged the same day shall be charged a ward fee of 3s.

B.—Obstetric cases—

Pat ients occupying beds in private rooms—Pour guineas per week; and, in addition, the cost of all medications and laundry services.

Pat ients occupying beds in community wards—Three guineas per week; and, in addition, the cost of all medications and laundry services.

Pat ients occupying screened beds in community wards—Three and a half guineas per week; and, in addition, the cost of all medications and laundry services.

for each subsequent occasion of use;

0.—Obstetric waiting patients—

Pat ients occupying beds in private wards—Three guineas per

week.

Patients occupying beds in community wards—Two guineas

per week.

D. — Pat ients isolated in infectious diseases block-—One guinea per

week.

Patients isolated in infectious diseases block receiving private

treatment—Two guineas per week.

E.—General charges—

( i ) Por all major operations and for the use of the theatre necessitating the attendance of more than one nurse and the sterilization of instruments—One guinea.

( i i ) Eor minor operations and treatment by instrumentation

in the operating theatre or special room—•

(a ) Pat ients occupying beds in private rooms or in
community wards—Ten shillings and sixpence
for the first occasion of use and Eive shillings

(i) Patients occupying beds in public wards—Two shillings and sixpence for each occasion of use; and

(c) Patients not occupying beds shall be charged at

the following rates in the Out-Patients' Depart- ment :—
For the use of the Out-patients' Theatre
(which includes the use of the Theatre for
minor operations, dressings under anaesthetic, and the use of Hospital instruments, apparatus or power) the following charges shall be made:—

(iii) Sera, vaccines, biological- extracts and hypodermic injec- tions—The actual cost of same to the Hospital shall be paid by all patients.

(iv) Examinations at the Commonwealth Health Laboratory—

The charges indicated in schedule's issued from time to time by the Commonwealth Department of Health shall be paid by all patients. _,

(v) Radiographic examinations—

(a)u Radiographic examinations of alimentary tract

by opaque meals—Two guineas,

(/;) Ordinary radiographic examinations—One

guinea.

(c) Dental radiographic examinations—Ten shillings

and sixpence; and

(d) Radiographic screenings—Ten shillings and six-

pence,

(vi) The cost of medications for both in-patients and out-

patients shall be the actual cost to the Hospital.
